Emily is a recent graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Graduating with distinction in a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Performance, studying with Marie-Christine Zupancic and Andrew Lane. ​

Emily is the winner of the 2021 Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Woodwind Prize. In 2021, Emily was also successful in the British Flute Society competition, winning a special award for the best low flute performance, playing 'Walpurgis' for solo alto flute. Emily Hicks also is proudly supported by Help Musicians in her postgraduate studies.
